Driving performance

28 September 2010

“July was our best month ever!”
“Why do you think that was?”
“Because I got the team to 95% productivity whereas normally it is around 65-70%”
This is a true dialogue we had with one of our clients. We challenged him, identified the key issues and as a result he changed his behaviour and got very different results. He was facing an issue that is commonly reported to us by our clients, “I am not getting the most out of my people”.
He was able to achieve this in July (and onwards) by taking our advice and how he manages his team. By setting clear objectives, communicating weekly and sometimes re-setting the priorities twice a week as customer demand changes he has taken back control of production. As a result he is quicker to spot issues and coaches his team when they are heading in the wrong direction. His frustration levels are vastly reduced as he is addressing issues as they arise, rather than letting them fester.
The outcomes :
·         Great financial performance
·         Higher staff motivation
·         Greater job satisfaction for the client
